Maaco Bowl Las Vegas Predictions

The 2012 college football bowl season is all revved up and ready to go. Here at , we”re here to help you beat the college football lines for the Washington Huskies and the Boise State Broncos, as we take a look at their Saturday clash in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Washington Huskies: 5

Boise State Broncos: -5

Total: 46

Though Boise State is a 10-2 team once again this year, it just doesn”t feel nearly as dominating as the teams in the past led by campus legends such as QB Jared Zabransky and QB Kellen Moore. QB Joe Southwick threw for just 2,466 yards and 17 TDs this year against seven picks, and he was leading an offense that averaged just 390.0 yards and 30.4 points per game. For those that have been playing the Broncos on the college football betting lines over the course of the last several years, they know just how pedestrian those numbers are, relatively speaking.

RB DJ Harper did have 16 total touchdown this year to go with 1,065 yards on the ground, but it wasn”t the same type of season that RB Doug Martin had last year for the team before moving on to the NFL and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

On the other side of the field, the Huskies are going to be fuming after losing to the Washington State Cougars in the Apple Cup to end the regular season. Head Coach Steve Sarkisian is going to be reminding his team just how important it is to beat the college football gambling lines in this one in Sin City, as it would go a long way towards starting off what could be a special 2013 season in Seattle.

Beating the college football wagering lines won”t be easy in this one, but the Huskies have the defense to get the job done. If you take out the 52 points that both the Arizona Wildcats and Oregon Ducks put up this year, U-Dub allowed just 18.2 points per game, and if you subtract out the 41 that the LSU Tigers put up as well, no team in the land scored more than 24 against this team until the Apple Cup, and that was aided by a furious Wazzu comeback in the fourth quarter and ultimately overtime.

Free Pick – This is old hat for the Broncos, as they have played here in the Las Vegas Bowl for three straight years. It”s still a downer to them, knowing that they came so close to being in the BCS. It”s going to be tough for Boise to win this game, knowing that it has already been handled in a very comparable game this year against the Michigan State Spartans. Look for the Huskies to come out and win a similar game to the 24-10 outing that was won five years ago between these two teams in Seattle.

Take the Washington Huskies 5

BookMaker Sportsbook

The Arizona State Sun Devils (6-6, 3-8-1 ATS) and the Boise State Broncos (11-1, 4-8 ATS) are set to tango on Thursday, December 22nd, 2011 from Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, NV. We”re breaking down the NCAA football odds for the MAACO Las Vegas Bowl, which can be seen live on ESPN and ESPN3.com at 8:00 ET.

NCAA Football Odds
Arizona State Sun Devils ( 14) -110
Boise State Broncos (-14) -110
Over/Under 66

It seems like the rather obvious choice on the NCAA football betting odds, but the Broncos really are the way to go in this game.

This is going to be the last time that QB Kellen Moore steps on the field in a Boise State uniform. He had himself a heck of a career, posting 49 career wins, the most by a quarterback in FBS history. He has also thrown for 14,391 yards and 140 TDs against just 26 INTs in his career, and he is going to probably finish his career in fourth place all-time in passing yards in D-I history as well.

Last year, one would have thought that Boise State would have been complacent playing here in Sin City instead of in the BCS, but the team went out and romped the Utah Utes, a strong team in their own right, 26-3.

This year”s Sun Devils should have been a heck of a lot better than that, as they were one of the favorites on the Pac-12 NCAA football odds this year. They just didn”t end up playing well down the stretch though, losing their last four games both SU and ATS to fall into the Las Vegas Bowl out of the Pac-12 instead of into one of the more illustrious games that the conference had bowl tie-ins to.

The offense was there the whole season though, as only a dud of a game on the road at the Illinois Fighting Illini was that bad. QB Brock Osweiler led an offense that scored 33.9 points per game this year.

That being said, the defense was what really struggled. This Sun Devils team was awful at times on the due to the fact that the “D” allowed 26.3 points per game.

– The Broncos have cruised to an 8-2 ATS mark in their last 10 bowl games, proving that Head Coach Chris Petersen always has his team up for any challenge bestowed upon it. Parlay that with the 10 wins this year that came by 14 points or greater for Boise State, and we have no choice but to back Moore for big win #50 to close out his career.

2010 MAACO Bowl Las Vegas Odds and Predictions

Utah Utes NCAAF Betting LinesVS.

College Football Lines – Las Vegas Bowl Features Top mid Major Squads Boise State & Utah

Written by North Shore Sports, Inc.

, Bookmaker Sportsbook is your one stop shop for the entire 2010 NCAA football betting campaign, including for this duel between the Utah Utes and the Boise State Broncos in the MAACO Las Vegas Bowl.

: The bowl season kicks off at the MAACO Las Vegas Bowl for the Boise State Broncos as they take on the college football lines against the Utah Utes at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, NV. Kickoff on Wednesday, December 22nd is set for 8:00 ET in a nationally televised tussle on ESPN and ESPN3.com.

The Utes have one major problem when they go up against the college football lines in this one. They aren”t going to have the services of Jordan Wynn, who has led them for the majority of the last season and a half. Wynn really busted out in the bowl game last year for the Utes, and many thought that he would be the man to lead them to the BCS this year.

That just wasn”t the case, though. The good news is that Wynn”s replacement, Terrance Cain has all sorts of experience as the starter. In relief this year, Cain threw for 610 yards and six TDs against just two picks.

That”s going to put a lot of pressure on Eddie Wide and Matt Asiata to keep the ball moving on the ground to beat the college football lines. The two combined for 1,356 yards and 19 TDs this year, and they are both capable of having tremendous nights in Sin City.

The Broncos still have to be kicking themselves for not just putting away the Nevada Wolf Pack a few weeks ago, or they would be playing in the Rose Bowl right now and not the Las Vegas Bowl.

It was great to see Kellen Moore standing in as a Heisman Trophy finalist on December 11th, as he had a third straight fantastic year as the starting quarterback for this team, and he could be in line for a big one against the Utes.

However, the key to beating the college football lines this winter against Utah is going to be the defense. This unit allowed 264.1 yards per game this year, good enough for No. 4 in the nation, and opponents only scored 13.6 points per game as well.

Still, the offense has some fantastic numbers as well, though we know that the WAC doesn”t provide the same type of challenges that some of the best teams in the country do on a regular basis. Still, scoring an average of 46.7 points per game is no joke.

The MAACO Las Vegas Bowl college football lines feature Boise State favored by 17 points with a total of 60.5. The Broncos just have the better team in this game by a country mile, and even though Utah is one of the better teams in the nation, playing without Wynn is going to be a killer in what will amount to be yet another Boise State romp.
